Avène Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Makeup Remover / Review

My first miss with Avène.

According to Avène it's a no-rinse cleansing water that will effectively remove all traces of makeup on face, eyes and lips. Will hydrate and calm the skin, leaving it moisturized and soft. Pleasant fragranced (tolerated by sensitive skin) it has no preservatives and is oil free, soap free and alcohol free. Hypoallergenic and non comedogenic.

First off, although I do like Avène's fragrance, in this it's chemical like. Not pleasant even if thankfully, it doesn't linger.

Not a one step cleanser for it removes makeup poorly.

Like I've mentioned in a previous post, I wear very little makeup. On my face I only apply bronzing powder and blush. This cleansing water didn't even remove these properly so imagine if one wears foundation! For eye makeup it was pretty much useless.

Hydrate and calm skin! Not really, since I had to use a lot of product and go over my face many times. It ended up being irritating and left a weird sticky feel on my skin.

Hypoallergenic and non comedogenic, for the first, many can't use Avène products due to the thermal water. A friend of mine gets hives from it. For the second, no product can be totally non comedogenic since every skin is different. This is just an empty promess.

There are many positive reviews about Avène Micellar Lotion Cleanser and as of 2012/08/08 they are very positive so there's a good chance you may like it:
