Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water / Saying goodbye to a favorite

My favorite cleanser has been discontinued! ARGH!!! Why? Oh why?

This of course is not the first time and it will certainly not be the last. Cosmetic companies do have to renew themselves constantly to be able to face the competition, to expand. In many cases, they will simply modify a formula. How often have you seen "new and improved" on a tube or jar? Countless! Sometimes, products are altered without warnings and that can wreak havoc on one's skin. You're then left wondering, why was this so great for my skin before? This, unfortunately, can happen when a smaller company is purchased by a bigger one. Some of the reasons for this may be that certain ingredients are too expensive or harder to find. They are then being replaced by what they figure will be more economical in the long run.

How annoying!!!

Nuxe Gentle Pureness Micellar Cleansing Water With 3 Roses And Green Tea

It's gone! Bye bye! Asta la Vista! Adieu!

Well, since this is fairly recent, it can still be found in some drugstores at a reduced price to make place for the new stuff. The complete 3 Roses and Green Tea line is being discontinued. Just like that! No warnings!

Gentle Pureness, 3 Roses and Green Tea line

It's being replaced by Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals. The star ingredient, damascena rose petal floral water. Another ingredient, micellar suffactant derived from coco. Yikes!!! I'm ok with floral water but the suffactant could be a problem. In fact it could be a major problem for many. Coconut derivatives are highly clogging for a lot of people without them knowing. In the previous version there where some and it didn't have any adverse effects on my skin. I can only hope the same will be said of this "new and improved" concoction.

A few weeks back I was able to try in on my hands and I must admit, it felt the same. At first glance, the only thing different seemed to be the fragrance. Like rose water. This I don't mind since I love rose water. In the summer I keep some in a small spray bottle to refresh my face during the day.

As for the Micellar Cleansing Water with 3 Roses and Green Tea, out of 9 reviews on MUA, 2 indicated allergic reactions. This may very well be one of the reasons for the change. I wasn't able to compare with Beauté-test for it's been removed from the site. There are no reviews yet for the new version.

The new star ingredient.

This week or the next, I'll grab a bottle and let you know how it compares.

Will the new one be better than the old?  *fingers crossed*
